Our story
A journey shaped by resilience, opportunity and love.
In communities where hope can feel out of reach, Beacon of Tender Love works to ensure that every child and young person has access to education, healthcare and digital skills.
The vision began with the journey of our founder, Ms. Evelyne Kavinya. Raised by a single mother, her childhood was marked by hardship but carried forward by resilience. Well-wishers and mentors opened doors to education and gave her the chance to pursue law.
In honour of her late mother’s courage and in gratitude to those who believed in her, Evelyne made a promise to return and give back. That promise grew into Beacon of Tender Love.

Beacon’s work connects the immediate barriers people face with the longer-term opportunities they need.
- Education access: scholarships, learning materials and support for children facing barriers to school.
- Championing girls’ rights: dignity and health education that helps girls remain in learning.
- Emergency support: response for children facing immediate threats to safety, stability or education.
- Bridging the digital divide: access to technology and practical digital literacy.
- Holistic growth: health, arts, sport and psychosocial support integrated around learning and wellbeing.
