ONE PURPOSE
A COMMITMENT TO GIVE BACK
Who we are
We walk alongside persons and communities who have been dealt a hard hand, not as strangers handing out help, but as friends who keep showing up.
Our story
A promise that became a commitment.
We were founded on a simple yet powerful truth that love, opportunity and dignity can break the cycle of poverty.

In communities where hope feels out of reach, we step in to ensure that every child and young person has access to what they need to thrive. That is Education, access to Healthcare and digital skills.
This vision began with the journey of one of our founder, Ms. Evelyne Kavinya. Raised by a single mother, her childhood was marked by hardship but carried forward by resilience. When the path ahead seemed impossible, well-wishers and mentors stepped in. Their generosity opened doors to education and gave her the chance to pursue law.
In honor of her late mother’s courage and in gratitude to those who believed in her, Evelyn made a promise: to return and give back.
What started as one life’s promise
Is now Beacon of Tender Love — a collective mission shaped by friends, partners, and a dedicated team who share the same conviction: that every child, girl, and family deserves dignity, opportunity, and love.

One promise became a shared mission
Evelyne began bringing together friends who shared her belief in the power of care and opportunity.
“We came together with one belief, every child deserves someone in their corner.”
Together, we turned that purpose into Beacon of Tender Love. The mission grew to support access to Education, Healthcare, Livelihood and Promote Human Rights. The commitment remains at heart.
Why the name?
Light for the way.
Love that stays.
01
Beacon
A light that helps you find your way home in the dark.
02
Tender love
The kind a mother gives: patient, stubborn and never asking for anything back.
We chose the name because that is what we want every person to feel: someone sees you, and someone is lighting the way.
The communities we walk with
Friendship before charity.
The communities we serve are full of hardworking parents, clever children and strong neighbours. What is often missing is not talent or effort. It is opportunity.
We do not arrive with all the answers. We sit with families, listen, and work alongside local teachers, community health volunteers, faith communities and local leaders.
Listen first
Local voices shape the response.
Work together
Progress belongs to the community.
Keep returning
Trust is built by showing up.

What we do
Six connected paths. One stronger future.
We respond to today’s barriers while helping children and young people build the confidence and skills to shape tomorrow.
01
Education
School fees, uniforms, books, sanitary care and steady follow-up throughout the year.
02
Healthcare
Helping families reach clinics, access basic treatment and make informed health decisions.
03
Digital skills
Practical computer, internet and digital training for the opportunities of tomorrow.
04
Gender equality
Trusted adults in every young person’s corner — listening, encouraging and walking the road with them.
05
Agriculture
Promoting sustainable agriculture, food security and resilient livelihoods to help communities thrive and become self-reliant.
06
Human Rights
Championing human dignity, equality and social justice by empowering communities, raising rights awareness and advocating for every voice to be heard.

A story of possibility
Name changed for privacy
“Now I know school is for me too.”
When we met Mary, she was 9 and had been out of school for of a year. She was living with her mother who was unemployed and could not afford to provide for Mary and her little sister.
With steady support, We helped Mary returned to class. Today she is learning, growing in confidence and holding onto her dream of becoming a doctor. We also helped her mother start a small business that would provide the basics for her young family.
“I used to think school was for other children. Now I know it’s for me too.”
Our journey
Still growing.
Still showing up.

One promise
No one walks alone
Our mission
To advance human dignity, equality and social justice by empowering communities, promoting human rights, expanding access to education and healthcare, and creating sustainable opportunities for positive change.
Our vision
A compassionate, equitable and inclusive world where every individual lives with dignity, enjoys equal opportunities and has the freedom to thrive.
What we believe
The values that keep us honest.
01
Dignity first.
We never treat anyone as a “case.”
02
Stay the course.
We commit to children for years, not months.
03
Community is the answer.
Together, neighbours, mentors and donors can do what no one can do alone.
04
Honesty with every shilling.
We tell supporters where their money goes and how it’s used.

A word from our team
“We started with almost nothing to give but our time. What we learned is that showing up matters. A person in need who knows someone is coming back starts to believe in tomorrow.”
One of us was once that child, carried through school by people she had never met. Today we get to be those people for someone else. When you give to Beacon, you join that circle.
